英文摘要: As one of the most famous achievements in gas discharge research, Paschen law played an important role in the theory and application of gas discharge. However, as the development of the gas discharge research, people found some problems related to Paschen law. Among these problems there are two with no clear answers up to now. The first one is the measured DC breakdown voltages of the gas gaps with moderate pressure and length deviate from Paschen law. The second one is the measured breakdown voltage of the gas gaps under microseconds pulse voltage deviate from the Paschen law. Aiming at these two problems, the theoretical analysis, numerical computation and experimental measurements will be made on how the charged particle loss due to radial diffusion, uniformity of the electric field and pulse breakdown delay influencing the validity of Paschen law. These research will further clarify the conditions under which Paschen law is valid and will be helpful to the development of the gas discharge theory.
