中文摘要: 作为一种新的物态,稀薄原子气体中玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚(BEC)的实现为凝聚态物质、原子、原子核和基本粒子物理的研究提供了新的手段和方法。近年来,光晶格作为一种新的技术手段得到了日臻成熟的发展,被广泛应用于BEC的操控。正如BEC可以用来模拟基本的凝聚态物理问题、量子光学和量子信息处理,光学领域中的现象也可以借鉴到装载BEC的光晶格结构中来。本项目拟在局域BEC的光晶格中实现光学领域(异向介质和光子晶体)中的新奇物理现象,具体内容包括:物质波隐形斗篷的设计和物质波负折射或完美成像的实现。为此,我们将采用理论分析和数值求解相结合的方法从事本项目的研究。

英文摘要: As a new state of matter, the realization of Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) in dilute atomic gases has offered a new way to study the phenomena related to condensed matter, atoms and atomic nucleus as well as elementary particle physics. In the past few years, optical lattice is a new technique that has been rapidly developed and widely used to control this new state of matter. Considering that great success has already been achieved with BECs in simulating the fundamental physical problems of a variety of fields, ranging from condensed matter, through quantum optics to quantum information processing; we believe the novel properties found in optical fields can also be extended to and realized in the case of BECs loaded into optical lattices. The primary purpose of this project is to mimic some extraordinary phenomena that recently found in optics (especially in metamaterials and photonic crystals), which includes the design of matter-wave cloaking and the achievement of negative refraction or perfect image of matter waves. Analytical and numerical simulation methods will be adopted in the study.
