中文摘要: 作为广谱型物理吸附剂,活性炭已经活跃在气体吸附的各个领域。而在以往应用中,活性炭颗粒的运动和位置是不可调控的。在本课题中,我们将采用磁性活性炭颗粒作为气体吸附剂,并设计控制其运动的约束磁场。在实验中,通过自动调节控制磁场,使得磁性活性炭颗粒可以1)在静态吸附的过程中较好的悬浮于气体之中;2)在动态吸附过程中与流动气体进行充分的混合(从而加大了颗粒与气体分子的接触机会和接触面积);3)通过磁场力被指派到需要的吸附区域;4)还可以通过磁场将磁性活性炭颗粒从吸附区域中剔除。这些特点将使气体吸附过程更加灵活有效。在这一课题中,我们将着重以下三个方面的研究:1)气体在磁性活性碳中的静态、动态吸附特性;2)控制磁性颗粒运动的磁场自动控制方法;3)吸附过程中气固两相流的特点。这一课题的展开将为气体吸附、自动控制及多相流交叉领域开辟新的亮点,其研究成果将在治理空气污染方面具有很好的应用前景。

英文摘要: Activated carbon, as a physical adsorbent, has been extensively used in the field of gas adsorption. However, previously, the location and movement of activated carbon particles were not controllable and trackable during gas adsorption process. In this project, we will adopt magnetic activated carbon as adsorbent, and design a cooresponding magnetic field to control the movement of the adsorbent particles. Thus, we can: 1) suspend the particles during quasistatic gas adsorption process; 2) mix the particles with gas flow intensively during dynamic adsorption process (namely, increase the contact probability between the gas molecules and the particles or increase the contact surface of the adsorbent); 3) direct the particles to their working locations; and 4) eliminate the particles after saturation for adsorption. All these virtues are finally contributed to an active and efficient magnetic adsorption process. In this project, we will emphasize our research in the following three parts: 1) study gas adsorption properties during quasistatic and dynamic adsorption process using magnetic activated carbon adsorbent; 2) establish automatic control method for the magnetic field to direct the movement of the magnetic particles; and 3) investigate the properties of multi-phase (gas-solid) flow concerning adsorption loss. The deployment of this project will open up a new high light in the cross disciplinary research of physical adsoprtion, automatic control, and multi-phase thermophysics. The research results in this project will be suiltable to the applications for air pollutant control.
