中文摘要: 传统上,三维造型往往被认为是类似于工艺制作的过程,用户在开始前就清楚他所要塑造的是什么样的物体。然而,三维造型也是一种开放式的艺术创作过程,在这过程中创作的方向和目标经常会发生不可预知的改变。如何在这种探索式的造型过程中提供创造力支持以帮助用户更好的创作是近两三年刚刚出现的一个研究课题。本项目围绕设计创造力支持系统所需遵循的基本原则,力求构建一个较为完善的基于创造力支持的造型系统以有效的帮助用户进行创造性的造型工作。首先,我们探讨如何在组合式造型过程中结合用户创作意图提供更为合适的候选部件供用户参考;其次,我们研究如何实现基于高层语义信息的三维网格版本控制,完整保留用户不断进行尝试的非线性操作历史并直观、动态呈现,通过版本控制操作支持协同合作,从而帮助用户取得创造性成果;最后,我们研究如何实现直观、自然的交互方法,使系统既方便业余爱好者上手,又支持艺术家自如的进行较为复杂的三维创作。

英文摘要: Traditionally, 3d modeling is usually considered to be a craft-like process, the user knows what he wants to make before he makes it. However, 3d modeling is also an art, an open-ended creative process. The direction or goal may change in an unpredictable way during such process. How to provide creativity support to help the user achieve best outcome in such an exploratory modeling process becomes an emerging research topic in the past 2-3 years. This project targets on providing a creativity-support based modeling system to effectively help the user in creative modeling process based on the main principles that a creativity-support system should follow. Firstly, we will investigate how to combine the user's intention to provide more appropriate component suggestions for him to reference during assembly-based modeling process. Secondly, we will study how to realize a high-level semantic based 3d mesh revision control system to help the user achieve his creative goal by preserving the rich history of the nonlinear trial-and-error modeling process and by supporting collaboration through revision control operations. Finally, we will conduct research on providing intuitive and natural user interface to help both novices and professional artists perform complex creative modeling in a convenient way.
