Media Facade Lighting (MFL) is an usual appealed lighting-design approach for transforming the facade of architectures into media by visual signals from artificial lighting, and consequent information conveying. However, due to some extremely strong contrast and dynamic flashing effect Media Facade Lighting (MFL) also brings the negative influence on human psychological and physical health, and even potential accidents cause to the city in night..Based upon above analysis, such application aims at determining the assessment and managing rules for designing and utilizing Media Facade Lighting (MFL), following the next three key steps, as sampling Media Facade Lighting (MFL) influential factor database through the cases study, establishing Laboratory Model of Media Facade Lighting (MFL), conducting Subjective Assessment Experiment, with which the current utilization condition of Media Facade Lighting (MFL),the relevancy of total Luminous Environment with the human emotion effect, as well as the influence of Brightness adjustment and stimulus frequency onto Visual Cognition will be studied and concluded..Moreover,through quantitative analysis of field survey-collected database and Subjective Assessment Experiment database, the Guideposts of Media Facade Lighting (MFL), such as the threshold of instantaneous brightness changes, threshold of stimulus frequency, the threshold of brightness, will be quantitatively confirmed.
