As a rising star from the carbon nanomaterial family, graphene raises great attentions in their properties and applications research.Especially in the biomedicine field, graphene and its derivates have shown huge potentials, as biosensores, nanocarriers, and imaging or photo-therapy agents. However, when graphene passes through the blood, the classical way for exnobiotics, its unique micro-size surface would attach onto the blood cells, which are at the comparible dimension. It is hypothesized that the attachment would change the complicate biological function of blood cells, by altering the physichemical characters of the surface of cells. This topic proposed to establish the methodology to detect the adhesion and the following effects between nanomaterials and blood cells. We assumpt to discover the selective and mechanism of the interaction between blood cells and graphene. How the size, surface charge and dispersing agent determine the adhesion ability of graphene on blood cells would be examined, while the integrity, deformability and biomedical functions of blood cells with graphene attachment would be tested in vitro and in vivo. This work would support the biomedical applications of graphene and researches for nanomaterials.
