中文摘要: 人工双负超介质是一种同时具有负介电常数和负磁导率的周期性结构材料,能展现出诸如负折射率、负传输相位、倏逝波放大等非常奇异的物理特性。在双负超介质中引入非线性参数,可进一步扩展此类人工超介质的电磁参数范围及应用领域。本项目将对人工双负非线性超介质进行系统的研究,设计并制备低损耗非线性双负超介质,理论与实验相结合研究其非线性效应,探究非线性效应的物理本质。同时利用超介质的负参数特性,本项目还将对一些新的非线性现象进行研究,例如正负相位匹配的三波/四波混频技术、参量放大效应、可控电磁屏蔽等效应,并且将其应用到有源天线、主动隐身、通讯领域等方面的研究中,设计新型的微波天线等器件,并实验研究其性能。本项目的研究对超介质、非线性光学、天线、新型微波器件等领域有重要的潜在价值。

英文摘要: Double-negative metamaterial is an artificial periodic media for which processes the negative electric permittivity and the negative magnetic permeability simultaneously. Double-negative metamaterial has the unique properties of negative refractive index, negative transmission phase, evanescent wave amplication. The introduction of the nonlinear parameters in double-negative metamaterial can further expand the range of the electromagnetic parameters and its applications. In this project, we will design and fabricate low-loss nonlinear double-negative metamaterial, and then demonstrate its nonlinear effects theoretically and experimentally. Physical principle of the nonlinear effects can be explored. Besides that, we will also investigate some novel nonlinear phenomena of the metamaterial such as phase-matched three-wave and four-wave mixing, parameter amplication effect, tunable electromagnetic shielding. And then we will apply these novel nonlinear phenomena to the fields of active antennas, active cloaking, and wireless communications. For instance, we will design some novel microwave antennas and study their performances. We believe this project has the potential values to further study metamaterial, nonlinear optics, antennas, and novel microwave devices.
