中文摘要: 膜计算是生物计算的新分支,旨在从细胞的结构和功能、以及从组织和器官等细胞群相互协作处理信息的方式中,获取新的计算思想或模型。神经膜系统是基于神经系统的结构和功能建立的一种膜计算模型,具有网络结构和良好的计算性能。但是目前的神经膜计算系统大多是在同步机制下运行的,并不符合生物神经系统中神经元非同步工作的生物现实。本项目拟在神经膜计算模型和理论的基础上,研究非同步神经膜计算模型,研究内容包括:(1)借鉴生物神经系统和膜计算,建立非同步神经膜计算模型;(2)研究新建计算模型的计算性能;(3)研究非同步神经膜计算的电子实现,为神经系统建模提供新方法和新工具;(4)研究非同步神经膜计算在神经系统建模中的应用。作为计算机科学与神经科学的交叉课题,本项目的研究不仅有望为计算神经科学提供建模新方法和仿真新工具,同时也将为计算机科学探索高性能计算提供新的思路和方法。

英文摘要: As a new branch of biological computing, membrane computing aims to abstract computing ideas and models from the structure and the functioning of living cells, as well as from the way the cells are organized in tissues or higher order structures. The resulting models are called membrane systems or P systems. Spiking neural P systems (SN P systems for short) are a class of P systems, inspired from the biological phenomena that in brain the neurons cooperate through processing impulses in the complex net established by synapses. SN P systems have network architecture and powerful computational performance. But most of the SN P systems are considered to work in synchronous mode, which is not consistent with the biological reality that neurons work non-synchronously in nervous system. The project is planned to investigate non-synchronous SN P systems. The main contents of the project include: (1)by inspirations from biological nervous system and membrane computing, establish non-synchronous SN P systems; (2)investigate the computational performance of newly established model;(3)research electronic realization of non-synchronous SN P systems, and provide new methods and tools for the modelling of nervous system;(4)investigate the application of non-synchronous SN P systems in the field of nervous system modelling. As a cross-disciplinary research topic, the study of this project provides not only new modelling methods and simulation tools for neuroscience, but also new ideas and methods for computer science exploring high-performance computing.
