中文摘要: 有机发光二极管(OLED)是最具前景的下一代显示技术。对于OLED器件,表面等离子体激元是中一种重要的损耗机制,不利于器件的特性,对顶发射OLED发光效率影响更为显著。本课题主要研究有机发光二极管中的表面等离子体激元相关特性。通过时域有限差分等电磁分析方法研究表面等离子体激元与光子的耦合、转换;并分析OLED中的电磁场分布。通过合理设计器件结构和测试光路,观测到硅阳极OLED侧向发光具有很强的偏振特性,侧向发光的偏振特性源于硅基OLED中表面等离子激元的散射;理论计算能够很好的解释器件发光的测试结果。本课题还研究了电子束曝光及压印工艺制备金属微纳结构,并分析了金属微纳结构表面等离子体激元特性及可能对发光过程的影响。

英文摘要: Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) are key devices for next generation panel plate display. Surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) play a negative role for OLED performance,especially for top emission OLED, which is an energy loss channel and thus substantially limits the light outcoupling efficiency. The characteristics of SPPs in OLED are investigated in this project. The electric field distribution in OLED and coupling process between SPPs and photon are studied using Finite-difference time-domain (FTDT) method. Designing the proper structure of OLED and optical testing configuration,we have observed the strongly polarized edge- emission from an organic light emitting device (OLED) with a silicon anode and a stacked Sm/Au (or Ag) cathode. The polarization results from the scattering of surface plasmon polaritons at the device boundary. The simulation result can interpret well the characteristic of the emitting light. In this project, the metal nanostructure fabrication technology of electron beam lithography and nanoimprint scheme are studied systematically. The influence of metal nanostructure to light emitting is also investigated.
