Applicants have studied the structure design of vascular stents, analysis and experimental testing of vascular stent mechanical properties, and so on. Based on the preliminary research, the project will investigate the mechanical behavior and in-vitro testing method of the stent expansion coupled system in tapered arteries. And effect of taper characteristics of tapered arteries on expansion process and structure design of stents is explored. The research fruits will provide a scientific basis for the development of good performance stent applied to tapered arteries. Specifically: ① Balloon, tapered vascular wall, plaque and stent are regarded as a nonlinear coupled system, and mechanical model of the coupled system is built. The non-linear finite element theory and the numerical simulation method used to simulate the coupled system are studied to provide a theoretical basis for designing good performance stents; ② The Kriging surrogate models of the vascular injury and the vascular recoiling involved in expansion process of stent are constructed. Then, a multi-objective optimization model of the mechanical behavior involved in the expansion process of stent is built, and the appropriate solution method is explored. ③ The in-vitro testing device of the stent expansion coupled system in tapered arteries is devel
