中文摘要: 颅颌面骨修复重建是重要的外科手术。要达到全自动的颌骨手术仿真,获得 具有真实感的术后面貌预测效果,对颌面器官进行科学、准确的数学建模是关键基础。在 本项目中,我们将研究既能表达颌面组织几何形状又能模拟颌骨切割和相应软组织形变的 多分辨率三维统计变形和有限元混合模型。该模型将颌面器官的基本几何形状、软组织的 物理特性、切割后的软组织和面皮的相关变形以及局部细节变化等因素融入到多分辨率的 混合模型框架中,具有对颌面异常部位进行量化和自动识别的能力,最终达到实时的手术 过程仿真和准确地术后面貌预测的目的。本项目旨在发展虚拟颌面骨手术的理论和技术, 为基于模型的手术仿真和效果预测提供坚实的理论基础。成功的虚拟颌面手术对于术前选 择最佳手术路径、减小手术损伤、降低手术费用、提高手术成功率等具有十分重要的经济 和社会意义。

英文摘要: Orthognathic recovery and reconstruction is one of the important surgery operation. To develop an automated orthognathic surgical planning system, and to achieve realistic prediction of post-operative facial appearance in orthognathic surgery, accurate mathematical modelling is a fundamentally prerequisite. In this project, we will investigate and integrate 3-dimensional multi-resolution Statistical Deformable Model (SDM) and Finite Element Model (FEM) which would capture and represent the variability of the 3D shapes of the human jaw, as well as the associated deformability in 3D of the soft-tissue and the facial surface. The basic shapes,biomechanical properties and major deformations of the facial structures as well as fine deformation details will be incorporated into a multi-resolutions framework of SDM and FEM which would then enable the identification and quantification of maxillofacial abnormality and to support interactive surgical planning while at the same time provide accurate post-operative prediction for the surgeons. Our objectives are developing the theories and technologies in the field of virtual orthognathic surgery, and providing the theoretical basis for model based operation simulation and post-operative appearance prediction.
