Schizophrenia is one of the major neuropsychiatric disorders and has a serious impact on health. Schizophrenia is very complex and the formation and development of schizophrenia remain unclear. Currently, biomarkers for schizophrenia diagnosis and treatment are still not available. MiRNAs are a class of newly discovered genetic factors. There is evidence that miRNAs have roles in schizophrenia. However, systematic studies on miRNA and schizophrenia especially studies based on miRNA and schizophrenia imaging genomics data are still limited. In this project, we aim to use imaging genomics techniques to investigate the association of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the miRNAs with brain morphology, functional changes and susceptibility to schizophrenia in the clinical collection of schizophrenia samples. We aim to use imaging genomics to reveal the law of the miRNA and schizophrenia and find new molecular biomarkers for the prediction and diagnosis of schizophrenia. The research results of the project will not only provide important theoretical basis for a better understanding of the roles of miRNA in schizophrenia, the development mechanism of schizophrenia, but also has potential value for schizophrenia diagnosis and treatment.
