中文摘要: 高响应速率、宽波长范围以及高光电转换效率的光调制器在光通信、信号处理、激光技术、传感及测量等领域具有极其重要的作用。石墨烯因其独特的光电特性,在光信号调制方面表现出巨大的潜在应用价值。本项目以石墨烯作为新型全光调制材料,研究其全光调制机理和调制特性,重点研究石墨烯与光场的相互作用,石墨烯载流子弛豫特性;石墨烯结构参数,与不同波导耦合,入射光偏振态、相位、强度以及波长变化等对石墨烯全光调制特性的影响;通过对石墨烯全光调制机理和特性的研究,可以对石墨烯材料的制备工艺进行优化和改进,从而获得适用于全光调制技术的石墨烯材料的最佳结构参数,为实现高调制速率、低泵浦阈值、高调制深度、宽工作波段以及集成化的新型光调制器奠定基础。该项目对于拓展石墨烯在光电子学领域的应用以及开发基于石墨烯的超快光通信器件具有重要意义。

英文摘要: Optical modulators with rapid response rate, wide wavelength range and high photoelectronic conversation efficiency have significant application in optical communication, signal processing, laser technique, sensor and measurement. Graphene is such a sort of material that shows enormous value due to its distinct characters in photoelectronics. The purpose of this project is to exploit the characters and all optical modulation mechanism of graphene, and most importantly is the interaction between graphene and optical field, light induced carriers.relaxation behavior of graphene. In addition, the factors such as structural parameters, coupling with various waveguides, polarization, phase, intensity and wavelength shift of incident light also affect the optical modulation of graphene. The research regarding the interaction between graphene and all optical modulator will promote the improvement of process for graphene material. As a consequence, advanced graphene with most suitable structural parameter for optical modulation can be fabricated in the future, which will be the base of new type optical.modulator with characters of rapid modulation rate, low pump threshold, high modulation depth, wide wavelength range and integration. So, this project would must be great significance for expanding the application of graphene in photoelectronics and exploiting of ultrafast optical communication device based on graphene.
