中文摘要: 光波导是集成光子学的基本元件。快重离子辐照是制备晶体材料光波导的重要方法。与体材料激光相比,基于波导结构的波导激光具有低阈值、高效率、体积小的优点,并且可以作为微激光光源集成于光子学芯片中,实现多种功能的应用。本项目研究快重离子辐照激光晶体光波导的制备和波导激光产生。利用兰州重离子加速器产生的快重离子辐照激光晶体,研究辐照离子对晶格结构的改性以及对辐照区折射率、荧光性能的调制效应,得出辐照结构损伤与折射率变化、荧光改性之间的关系,探索内在的物理机制。依靠辐照引起的有效折射率改变,制备基于多种模式的激光晶体光波导结构;通过辐照损伤分布调制波导区的荧光性能,在此基础上,实现高效率、低阈值的晶体波导激光输出。本项目的研究结果将对快重离子与晶体材料相互作用的基础研究提供重要的理论参考和实验依据,同时,制备的晶体波导激光元件可作为新型的微集成光源,在现代光子学、光通讯等领域有重要的应用前景。

英文摘要: Optical waveguides are basic components of integrated photonics. Swift heavy ion irradiation is an important method to fabricate optical waveguides in crystal materials. Compared with the bulk lasers, waveguide lasers possess advantages such as low lasing thresholds, high efficiencies and small volumes, and easily integrated into photonic circuits as micro laser sources for diverse applications. In this project, the fabrication and laser generation in swift heavy ion irradiated waveguides in laser crystals will be investigated. By using the swift heavy ion beams generated from the HIRFL facility, Lanzhou, a number of laser crystals will be irradiated. The lattice structural modification, refractive index and fluorescence modulation effects in the irradiated regions will be studied in order to obtain relationship between the irradiation-induced damage, refractive index alternation and fluorescence properties. The related initial mechanisms will be investigated. Through the induced refractive index changes, laser waveguides will be produced with diverse configurations. The fluorescence performance may be modulated by the damage profiles, and the highly efficient, low-threshold crystalline waveguide lasers will be generated.
