中文摘要: 近年来,由于其独特的物理性质和诱人的应用前景,表面等离子体成为国际前沿研究课题。本项目围绕表面等离子体与Airy光束交叉方向开展以下几个方面的研究工作:(1) 采用有限时域差分方法和有限元法等,系统研究表面等离子体Airy光束的形成与传播特性;(2) 当线性势存在时,推导表面等离子体Airy光束的时空演化方程,通过线性势来调控等离子体Airy光束;(3) 通过引入非线性介质来研究Airy光束的动力学行为。通过本项目的研究力争实现以下目标:(1) 实现对表面等离子体Airy光束自弯曲、自修复等的调控; (2) 实现表面等离子体Airy光束的一些奇异光学现象,如产生光子弹等,并找出其物理本质; (3) 弄清非线性势影响表面等离子体Airy光束的物理机制。本项目的研究内容能够揭示一些奇异光学现象的物理本质,具有深刻的内涵,开展本项目的研究不仅对于基础研究,而且对于实际应用都具有重要的科学价值。

英文摘要: Very recently, surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) have attracted much attention due to its unique characteristics and promising potential applications. The proposal which investigates both SPPs and Airy beams is concentrated on the following three parts: (1) Using Finite-Difference Time-Domain method and Finite element method, etc., we study the formation and the propagation of plasmonic Airy beams; (2) We derive the spatiotemporal equations of plasmonic Airy beams in the presence of the linear potential. The propagation of the Airy beams is modulated by the linear potential; (3) We also study the dynamical behavior of the plasmonic Airy beams by introducing the nonlinear potential. The aims by performing the proposal are listed in the following: (1) We will be able to modulate the properties of the plasmonic Airy beams, such as the self-bending and self-healing, etc.; (2) We plan to achieve some exotic optical phenomena, such as light bullets, and we will uncover their physical mechanisms; (3) We will understand the mechanism of how does the nonlinear potential influence the plasmonic Airy beams. This proposal is helpful to understand the mechanism of exotic optical phenomena, it has profound physical meanings. We believe this proposal plays an important role both in the basic researches and applications.
