中文摘要: 数据从生成到可视化的各个环节都会产生不确定性,对数据不确定性的准确理解是用户获取有效知识并作出最佳决策的重要因素。不确定性可视化及可视分析的理论和应用是目前和未来可视化领域的重要研究方向之一,如何实现复杂不确定性的有效可视化并实施不确定性可视分析面临着许多挑战。针对这些问题,本项目首先从数据模型问题出发,提出有效的不确定性数据的建模和相关性分析方法;其次,研究分析驱动的保持特征的可视布局、低视觉复杂度的可视编码和高效率可视化绘制等方法;然后,研究感知高效的导航和交互技术,进一步提高人脑智能参与不确定性可视分析的效率;最后,实现完善的探索式不确定性可视分析集成系统并完成实验验证。随着数据增长,高效的不确定性可视分析技术在辅助用户进行准确数据趋势预测等方面将得到广泛的应用。

英文摘要: Uncertainty is introduced during the process of data acquisition, transformation and visualization. Better understanding of uncertainty is an important factor that assists users in better knowledge acquisition and decision making. Uncertainty visualization and visual analytics are the important research areas in future. It is a challenge that how to achieve efficient massive uncertainty visualization and visual analytics. To solve these problems, we conduct an exploratory research on uncertainty visual analytics. Firstly, we focus on the research of basic theories and methods of uncertainty modeling and correlation analysis. Secondly, we study some analysis-driven uncertainty visualization methods, including visual layout method, visual encoding method and efficient rendering method. Thirdly, to make uncertainty visual analytics more intelligent, we study some perception-based navigation and user interaction techniques. Finally, we implement an integrated visual analytics system incorporating uncertainty visualization and conduct some experiments to verify our methods. With the growth of data, efficient uncertainty visual analytics will be applied to much more fields, for example, accurate data trends forecast.
