中文摘要: 大脑在感知和识别声信号的过程中,会受到视觉输入的调制作用的影响。先前研究多集中在视听交叉脑区以及听皮层,而下丘作为听觉系统中皮层下一个非常重要的信息汇聚和整合的中继站,针对其声信息加工受视觉输入影响的研究相对较少,视觉输入如何影响下丘神经元对声信息的提取以及加工处理的,目前还不是十分清楚。因此,本项目提出开展"视觉闪光刺激对下丘听神经元声反应的影响及机制研究"的思路,拟采用闪光刺激、声刺激、神经药理学相结合的方法,以及细胞外和细胞内的记录方法,研究视觉输入对小鼠下丘声信息加工影响的细胞及突触机制。主要研究:视觉闪光刺激对下丘神经元频率信息分析的影响及机制;弱噪声掩蔽下视觉闪光刺激影响下丘神经元声信息提取的作用机制;视觉闪光刺激调制下丘神经元声反应的突触机制。所获得的研究结果可为进一步了解视觉输入对听觉信号加工的调制提供新的实验证据。

英文摘要: Auditory perception and identification of brain could be modulated by the visual input. Previously, most studies on this topic are mainly focused on the cortical and subcortical brain multisensory regions, little has been paid to inferior colliculus (IC), a subcortical pure auditory nucleus in auditory pathway, which is important to acoustic information gathering and integration. It is still not clear how visual input modulates auditory signal processing and extraction of IC neuron. In present grant proposal, we will study and probe the cellular and synaptic neural mechanisms underlying the effects of visual input on acoustic information processing in IC neurons of mice using neuro-electrophysiological and neuro-pharmacological methods, as followings: effects of flash stimulus on frequency analysis of IC neuron; role of flash stimulus in acoustic information extraction of IC neuron under weak noise masking; synaptic mechanism of flash stimulus modulating acoustic response of IC neuron. All results obtained in the studies will provide new experimental evidences and explanations for further understanding the modulation of visual input on acoustic information processing.
