中文摘要: 山西下川、河北油房和甘肃徐家城遗址是中国北方晚更新世中晚期重要的旧石器考古遗址点,蕴含丰富的文化遗存。由于受到早期实验条件和测年技术水平的限制,及考古遗址点复杂的沉积过程,目前尚有一些遗址点的年代数据存在较大的疑问或争议。本项目对下川、油房、徐家城遗址进行野外考察与系统样品采集,在实验室中对不同粒级的石英矿物进行光释光年代测定,利用小片技术和单颗粒测年技术判断样品的晒退情况,并结合考古遗址点剖面沉积物样品的磁化率和粒度分析,建立下川、油房和徐家城遗址的年代序列,讨论中国北方旧石器文化的发展与演化,及与气候环境变化的耦合关系。

英文摘要: Xiachuan in Shanxi, Youfang in Hebei and Xujiacheng in Gansu are important Paleolithic sites in northern China during the middle-late period of Late Pleistocene, with rich Palaeolithic remains. Some dating data of Paleolithic sites in China at present are in fact questionable or debatable due to the limitation of the experimental condition and technique at that time, and complicated sedimentary process. In the project, we will systematically collect samples based on field survey in Xiachuan, Youfang and Xujiacheng archaeological sites. In the OSL laboratory, quartz with different grain-size fractions will be used to estimate the ages of the samples from Xiachuan of Shanxi Province, Youfang of Hebei Province and Xujiacheng of Gansu Provinc. Small aliquot and single grain techniques are used to identify insufficient bleaching of the studied sediments. We will establish an accurate chronological framework in Xiachuan, Youfang and Xujiacheng using OSL dating technique, grain-size analysis and magnetic susceptibility measurement. The development and evolution of the Paleolithic culture in northern China, and their relationship to environmental variables will be discussed.
