The interactions between different biological groups and their response to environments is the frontier of current eclogical researches. But the association of plants and soil fauna, and related environmental, spatial and temporal factors are far from clear. Taking ten contineous elevational transects in Dongling mountain in Beijing as platform, we want to explore the species composition, community strcucture for plants and soil fauna, as well as environmental factors.Using multivariate, model and index analysis, we want to explore the temporal and spatial association patterns of plants and soil fauna, and underlying mechanisms. Espeically at the area of treeline, where the vegetation type shifts from forest to alpine meadow, we want to test the poissble shift of plant-soil faunal association. This study is significant for us to understanding the persistence and breakdown mechanisms of above-below ground aasociations in facing the anticipated environmental changes. The study has important scientific and practical values for keeping ecological safty and preventing ecological risks.
