中文摘要: 三维外形信息,特别是点云数据是当前数字几何处理、多媒体信息处理的重要研究对象。外形信息的处理与形状分析、形状识别与理解、简化与可视化是三维外形信息研究中面临的三个主要问题,其中,形状识别与理解是一个挑战性的问题。本项目以点云为主要研究对象,依据学科发展分析和工作积累,根据已有视知觉理论,应用信息处理技术、数学、计算机科学技术研究上述的三个问题。主要研究内容有四个方面:三维外形信息的处理与形状分析、外形的形状匹配、三维形状的识别与理解、三维离散模型的简化和可视化。技术创新在于点云数据的内蕴几何量与特征线的估计、点云数据拓扑特征的提取及其结构化表征、深度图像分析与点云几何特征分析的结合、离散模型的简化和可视化、点云与体素数据的形状分解方法、三维形状的识别与理解。技术难点在于拓扑结构特征的提取与表征、与视觉感知一致的形状分解、实体的语义描述。

英文摘要: 3D shape information, point cloud information in particular, is an important research topic in current digital geometry processing and multimedia information processing. 3D shape information processing and shape analysis, shape recognition and understanding, and the simplification and the visualization are three major problems in the study of 3D shape information. In these three major problems, shape recognition and understanding is a challenging problem. 3D point cloud is the main research object in this project. An analysis of the development of the discipline and the accumulation of our past work are applied as a basis of this proposal. The theory of visual information perception, information processing technology, mathematics, computer science and technology are used to investigate above three problems. There are four major research aspects in this proposal: 3D shape information processing and shape analysis, shape matching, 3D shape recognition and understanding, and the simplification and visualization of discrete 3D model. The technical innovations exist in six aspects: the estimation of intrinsic geometry characteristics and feature lines of point cloud, the extraction of topological features and its structured representation of point cloud, a combination of the analysis of range image and geometric feature analysis of point cloud, the simplification and visualization of discrete models, shape decomposition of point cloud and volume data, and 3D shape recognition and understanding. Technical difficulties are in three aspects: extraction of topologically structural fertures and its representation, shape decomposition accorded with existing theory of visual perception, and the semantic description of the object.
