Nucleic acids play important roles in cell signaling. Due to their polymorphism and transformation dynamics, different nucleic acids' secondary structures in vivo would affect their activities in some important biological process and also impact their interactions with corresponding protein factors as well, bringing in different process of cell signaling. Thus, studies on the mechanism of these cell signaling process are meaningful. In this project, we would focus on the structural and effect of the modified nucleic acids, especially the modifications' effect on nucleic acids' structure and biological function, and consequential changes in cell signaling. We would take the advantages of small molecules, using them to probe, regulate and detect the signaling change upon the nucleic acids' modification.
