中文摘要： 风险投资在我国的创新、创业和经济发展中起着越来越重要的作用。然而，风险投资管理人作为风险投资决策者，在学术研究中受到的关注很少。本课题利用实地访谈、问卷调查和二手数据计量分析等研究手段，结合定性研究和定量研究方法，研究风险投资管理人在我国风险投资机构中的作用及其对风险投资效果的影响。本课题将从风险投资管理人的人力资本、风险投资管理人间的网络关系和风险投资管理人的工作变动等三个角度展开研究。通过案例研究构建有关风险投资管理人在风险投资决策中作用和对风险投资效果影响的理论框架，并通过基于问卷调查数据和二手数据的计量分析检验理论模型的有效性。本课题的研究目标是在国际主流管理学杂志和国内权威学术期刊发表多篇研究论文并通过多种形式将研究成果呈现给实业界和政策制定者。本研究将帮助学术界和实业界深入理解风险投资管理人在风险投资企业中发挥作用的机制，并对政策制定者制定相应政策产生影响。

英文摘要： The venture capital industry is experiencing fast growth and is playing more and more important roles in innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development in China. However, the roles of venture capitalists as decision makers in venture capital investments are far from well-studied. The proposed research project focuses on roles of venture capitalists in venture capital investment decision making and their impacts on investment performance of venture capital firms. We will take use of research methods like field studies and econometric analyses based on survey data and archival data to understand research questions through both qualitative and quantitative lens. Specifically, we will study from three aspects: human capital of venture capitalists, social network among venture capitalists, and job mobility of venture capitalists. Firstly, theoretical frameworks and testable proportions will be developed through multiple case studies. Secondly, survey data and archival data will be collected, cleaned, and analyzed. Finally, hypotheses developed based on theoretical frameworks and proportions will be tested and modified. We plan to publish research outputs in international and domestic top journals and to share research results with venture capitalists and related policy makers. The project is expected to deepen our understandings of roles of venture capitalists in venture capital investments, to improve efficiency of decision making by venture capitalists, and to help policy makers in making more effective policies for the development of venture capital industry in China.
