中文摘要: 纤维增强复合材料(FRPs)已成为现代工程领域中最重要的材料之一。但是此类材料的结构特点(层压或夹芯结构) 使得其在服役期的缺陷预测成为一个挑战性课题。碳纳米管(CNT)/高分子复合材料提供了一个可以用来评价FRP缺陷的途径。但该类方法仅能预测FRP中基体的受损情况,而不能预测FRP中主要增强项- - 纤维的受损状况。通过将CNT涂覆/分散在纤维表面/内部,不仅有望改善纤维的力学、电学等性能,同时赋予其拉曼活性,通过拉曼光谱法检测功能型纤维在FRP中的形变,揭示应力在纤维上的分布状况以及复合材料累计破坏过程,从而提供了一种用于预测FRP结构缺陷的新方法。

英文摘要: Fiber-reinforced polymers(FRPs) have become one of the most important materials in modern engineering fields. However, their specific structures (laminate or sandwich) make damage analysis of these materials a challenging task. The use of carbon nanotubes/polymer nanocomposites has emerged as a promising method to evaluate the damage process in FRPs. A major drawback based on this approach is that one can not predict the damage in the fibres, which actually sustain the majority of load applied to FRPs. In the proposed project, functional glass fibres will be developed by either coating CNTs on fibre surface or dispersing them in fibres, aiming at improving their mechanical and electrical properties. The introduction of CNTs on/in fibres makes fibres Raman sensative, offering a way to evaluate the distruibution of fibre strain in FRPs by using Raman spectroscopy, and to study the accumulation of damage in composites under mechanical load, thus offering a new route for the warning of structural defects in composites.
