With the rapid development of economy and goods transport in many countries, high speed and heavy load have become the trend of road traffic development. When passing through curved bridges, heavy vehicles are easy to drift or rollover and also have a dynamic impact on pavement and bridge. As a result, the road or bridge structures will create fatigue, aging, cracking and other problems, which may lead to the traffic accidents. In this project, the models of heavy vehicles, drivers and curved bridges will be built, and the nonlinear dynamics and integrated control of vehicles when passing through curved bridges will be researched by theoritical and numerical methods. The effects of system parameters and vehicle-bridge coupled vibration on vehicle stability, bridge safety and vehicle control strategy will be analyzed. This investigation involves nonlinear dynamics of the high-dimensional, time-delay, rigid-flexible coupling system and has an important science significance. The research results will be beneficial to improving dynamical design of vehicles and curved bridges and mending bridge safety design criterion, which will bring about a great engineering application value for reducing maintaince and management cost.
