中文摘要: 本课题将利用全球地震台网,尤其是近年来的靠近极地的高纬度地震台网接收到的PKP折射和反射波,通过分析穿过地球内核不同位置、不同方向的PKP波的到时差和波形变化,来研究内核边界附近的各向异性结构以及衰减结构的变化。高纬度地震台网的增加将极大的补充之前内核研究中南北方向的采样不足;而我们将采取的三维射线追踪和直接从震源机制进行波形拟合的方法,极大的减少了射线路径以及使用经验震源波形的偏差,从而使研究得出的内核结构更加可靠。研究结果将对内核的成分组成、形成和演化过程有十分重要的参考意义。

英文摘要: Using global seismic networks, especially networks from high latitudes, we will study the anisotropy and attenuation structure of the Earth's inner core near the inner core boundary(ICB). We will use PKP refracted and reflected waves, study both their differential travel times and waveform changes, to examine the anisotropy and attenuation of the inner core in different locations. The data from high latitude networks will greatly improve the data coverage in north-south direction, which are poor in previous studies. We will also use three-dimentional ray tracing method to invert the anisotropy structure and a direct soultion method to model waveforms from earthquake fault-plane solution. These methods will reduce the uncertanties of one-dimensional ray tracing and empirical source time function. The results will greatly improve our understanding of the inner core structure, and will have important constrains on the composition, formation and evolution of the inner core.
