中文摘要: 随机线性网络编码是一种提升通信网络数据传输性能的重要手段,但现有实现方法通常具有较高的开销(如计算、缓存、编码向量负载、传输控制开销等),使其实用性与通用性受到了极大的限制。本项目将研究结合信道编码的实现思路,对网络编码传输进行信道建模,并引入信源端的信道编码机制,实现低开销的高效网络编码机制。项目将围绕网络编码开销、系统性能、用户服务质量等性能指标,从面向网络编码的传输机制、面向相干/非相干传输的信道编码设计、面向典型应用服务质量保障的自适应网络编码等角度,对结合信道编码的低开销网络编码机制所涉关键技术开展研究。项目预期成果包括:得到网络节点计算与缓存开销约束下的网络容量;建立分布式的高效网络编码传输机制;设计出面向网络编码传输的高效低复杂度信道编码;建立典型应用中用户服务质量保障的优化网络编码机制。

英文摘要: Random linear network coding (RLNC) is a powerful tool for data dissemination over communication networks. However, existing approaches of RLNC usually incur significant cost (e.g., computational cost, buffer cost, coefficient vector overhead, control overhead, etc.), which restricts the practicality and universality of RLNC significantly. In this project, we will investigate the channel coding based approaches to establish efficient and low cost RLNC mechanisms, where the end-to-end RLNC transmissions are modeled as a channel, and the source node applies a channel code. Focusing on the vital metrics including RLNC cost, system performance, and the quality of service (QoS) of users, we are dedicated to develop key techniques involved in designing efficient transmission schemes for RLNC, channel codes, and adapative RLNC mechanisms with the QoS guarantee. The expected outcomes of this project include the network capacity under the constraints of node computational and buffer cost, efficient distributed network coding based transmission schemes, efficient adaptive encoding and decoding methods of channel codes with low complexities, and optimized RLNC mechanisms with QoS guarantee for typical application scenarios.
