中文摘要: 全息显示技术可以在空间中生成栩栩如生的三维立体图像,被认为是一种真三维显示。但传统的全息显示由于缺乏理想的记录介质,还仅局限于静态图像显示,真正实现动态全息三维显示依然存在许多技术难题亟待解决。本项目拟基于光学全息方法,通过研究染料掺杂液晶的响应特性与光敏感度,即响应时间和光学非线性系数,并结合表面配向处理,制备出可快速刷新的全息记录板,从而动态再现实物运动或加载于空间光调制器的视频图像。在此基础上,为进一步实现彩色显示,我们将分别研究基于复用和场序方式的彩色化方案,解决图像重合、串扰和色分离问题。通过以上系统研究,将最终优化出合理的材料、器件和系统的参数、模型、工艺与实验方法,为动态全息三维显示的应用与发展奠定基础。

英文摘要: As an ultimate three-dimensional (3D) technology, holographic display is capable of creating lifelike 3D images floating in space. However, due to the lack of updatable recording materials, it is still limited to display the static images. In order to make a transition from static to dynamic, there are many technical bottlenecks have to be settled. In this project, we propose a dynamic holographic display, which is based on the optical holographic method and features a dye-doped liquid crystal. This material exhibits characteristics of fast response and high sensitivity, in terms of the response time and optical nonlinearity. By virtue of its performance, we have fabricated a surface-engineered recording plate, through which the moving real objects or the computer-generated holograms, output by the spatial light modulator, can be recorded and reconstructed in real time. To further render the display with color, we will investigate both the multiplexing and field-sequential color schemes. Their critical issues include the overlapping, crosstalk, and color breakup. From the in-depth study, we will finally obtain optimal solutions regarding the materials, devices and systems, and parameters, models, processes and experimental techniques thereof.
