中文摘要: 南大洋是全球气候变化的重要敏感区域,其碳循环过程是当前全球变化领域的研究重点。生物泵过程是海洋碳循环研究的关键环节,其中上层水体中颗粒有机碳输出通量更是衡量海洋生物泵运转效率的重要指标,并且决定着海洋颗粒活性元素和化学组分的生物地球化学循环速率。对此领域的深入研究,对了解海洋生物地球化学循环过程和预测全球气候变化趋势均有重要意义。 本项目拟基于多核素(Th-234、Po-210)示踪方法,利用不同核素半衰期和生物地球化学行为的差异,研究夏季南大洋威德尔海上层水体中海洋颗粒物的运移与输出过程,估算颗粒有机碳输出通量,探讨该海域生物泵运转的时、空变化规律,为深入了解南极附近海域碳循环过程及其对全球变化的反馈作用提供参考数据。

英文摘要: Southern Ocean is important and sensitive to global climate change. Research on carbon cycle process of Southern Ocean is now concentrated in the field of global change.Biological pump process plays a key role in the study on marine carbon cycle, of which uppper ocean particulate carbon (POC) export flux, as a critical index to evaluate the efficiency of the biological pump, determines the biogeochemical cycle rate of marine particle-reactive elements and chemical constituents. Intensive research in the field is significant for understanding processes of marine biogeochemical cycle and predicting trends of global climate change. Based on multi-nuclide(Th-234,Po-210)tracing method with the differences of half life and geobiochemical behavior between two nuclides, multi-tracer tracing techqiue will be applied to investigate transport and export process of marine particles, estimate POC export flux and probe into temporal and spatial variation of biological pump in summer in upper ocean in Weddell Sea, Southern Ocean, which provides references to gain insight into carbon cyle process and its feedback to global change of Southern Ocean.
