中文摘要: AST3是中国南极天文中心第二代光学望远镜,由三台50cm/68cm的施密特望远镜组成,将在南极冰穹A进行大视场、多色光学测光巡天,主要进行时域天文学的研究。除了制造精良的望远镜和CCD相机外,还需要有一个在极端环境下的巡天控制系统以及海量数据的处理系统,才能够充分发挥观测设备的功能,最大限度地获取高质量科学数据,实现既定的科学目标。本项目将在AST3现有基础上,研究优化AST3运控系统、完善巡天规划和控制,尤其是实现高精度测光。虽然各种测光的方法和软件都比较成熟,但如何从观测图像获得最佳的测光效果和精度,还必须详尽研究影响测光精度的各个因素,包括特定仪器和数据处理的各个方面。本研究结果不仅适用于AST3,其中大部分也可以方便推广到其它光学望远镜和巡天计划,尤其是可以为十二五南极天文台的光学红外望远镜提供借鉴和培养人才。

英文摘要: AST3 is the second generation optical telescope of Chinese Center for Antarctic Astronomy. It consists of three 50cm/68cm Schmidt telescopes that will be used for large area, multi-color sky survey at Dome A, Antarctica. The main research will focus on time-domain astronomy. Beside the telescopes and CCD cameras, a successful survey also needs a good survey scheduling and control system, and massive data reduction system. Based on the current AST3 system, we will optimize the survey operation and control system, complete the survey scheduling and achieve high precision photometry. Although various photometry methods and softwares are available, getting the most from the survey images will require detailed studies of all instrumental and data reduction effects that may affect the accuracy of the photometry. Our study will also benefit other optical telescopes and survey programs, especially the optical/IR telescope of the 12.5 project for the Antarctic Observatory.
