中文摘要: 随着计算机图形学的发展,植物三维建模技术已广泛地应用于电影、游戏等的制作。尤其是高精度的植物模型为许多应用所必须,例如植物的虚拟展示、农学和植物学的研究等。然而由于植物种类繁多结构复杂,制作高精度的植物模型依然非常具有挑战。利用传统的过程式方法无法设计出真实的生长规则,而当前基于采集数据的植物重建方法无法解决因植物自身的自遮挡导致的数据缺失问题。因此,本项目将基于当前数据采集技术,探索如何获取植物的完整采集数据以及精细的几何特征,并且在采集数据的基础上提出高精度的植物重建和合成方法。具体的研究内容包括:数据采集设备的设计与搭建、针对植物枝叶的主动式扫描、植物枝叶数据分割与重建、植物枝叶结构的分析与合成、枝干与叶片的几何与颜色纹理的重建、枝干纹理的合成。本项目将在植物三维建模方面取得重要的进展,使植物建模技术可以为诸如植物学研究、农学研究等要求高精度模型的领域提供有用的工具。

英文摘要: With the advance of computer graphics, 3D plant modeling technique has been extensively applied to various fields including movies, games, advertisements. Especially the high resolution plant models are necessary for some fields such as the agriculture, botany. However, due to the great varieties and complex structure, the high resolution modeling of plant is still a very challenging task. The traditional procedural modeling methods are not competent since it is extremely difficult to design the procedural rules describing the plant growth perfectly, and the fine details such as the surface geometry of branches are not considered as well. On the other hand, capture data based reconstruction methods might offer results faithful to the real plants, but the occluded interior organs are missing. Therefore we would like to explore the approach to capturing the complete data and fine detail of plants, and the robust reconstruction and synthesis methods. To this end, several key research problems will be solved, including the design and setup of the capture system, proactive scanning for plants, segmentation and reconstruction from the captured data, reconstruction of the geometric and color texture of branches and leaves as well as the branch texture synthesis. It is expected that this project will make important progress in plant modeling and offer a useful tool to generate the high resolution plant models.
