中文摘要: 本项目拟利用超高真空低温扫描隧道显微镜和针尖增强拉曼散射光谱技术的联用系统,对单分子拉曼散射过程的非线性现象进行深入系统地表征和研究。我们将通过测量单分子拉曼散射光子的非线性和相干性,探讨单分子拉曼散射过程的物理机制和非线性效应的来源,研究这些效应对拉曼探测灵敏度和空间识别与成像分辨率的影响。并在此基础上,将非线性单分子拉曼散射技术应用于人工DNA等生物分子的高分辨化学识别与测序工作。

英文摘要: This project is aimed at utilizing a combined system of low-temperature ultrahigh-vacuum scanning tunneling microscope (STM) with tip enhanced Raman scattering (TERS) technique to investigate in depth and systemically the nonlinear behavior in the single-molecule Raman scattering process. By measuring the nonlinear and coherent behavior of Raman scattered photons from single molecules, we can gain insights into the mechanism of single-molecule Raman scattering and the origin of the nonlinear effect, thus allowing us to explore how the nonlinear effect affects the spectral sensitivity and spatial resolution of Raman imaging. Furthermore, we shall also apply the nonlinear TERS technique developed in this work to the chemical identification of bio-molecules at the nanoscale, aiming to achieve synthetic single-stranded DNA sequencing in real space.
