中文摘要: 真实感绘制是动画电影和CG特效制作需要解决的核心问题,而光路重用是提高基于路径跟踪的真实感绘制的计算效率的最重要的技术之一。尽管近年来光路重用已经成为图形学领域的一个研究热点,然而目前针对光路重用偏差控制的理论分析仍处于非常初级的阶段。本课题提出建立基于统计的路径空间光路重用理论,并在此基础上对现有的各种光路重用算法进行偏差和噪声的理论分析。进一步地,本课题将根据分析结果提出现有光路重用算法的改进方法,并提出新的算法来在噪声和偏差之间获得更好地平衡。本课题将在理论层面上为光路重用建立重要基础,并为设计、评估光路重用方法提供理论指导;在算法层面上推进光路重用方法领域的研究水平;并在应用层面上有效促进光路重用方法在动画电影和CG特效制作中的应用,缩短制作周期、降低制作成本。

英文摘要: Realistic rendering is one of the core problems of animation film and CG special effect industry, and light path reuse is one of the key technique to improve the efficiency of realistic rendering based on path tracing. Given the latest increasing research interest and development in light path reuse, the theoretic analysis of bias control in light path reuse is still in a very early stage. This project propose to establish statistics-based theory for path space reuse, based on which various existing light path reuse algorithms can be analyzed and evaluated according to their bias and noise property. Further, the project will propose improvements for existing light path reuse algorithms, as well as new algorithms for better trade-off between bias and noise. In the theoretical perspective, this project will establish important foundation for light path reuse, and provide theoretical guidelines for the design and evaluation of light path reuse method. In the algorithmic perspective, this project will push the state-of-art of research on light path reuse. In the application perspective, it will effectively promote the application of light reuse in animation movie and CG special effect industry, shinking the production cycle and lower the cost.
