中文摘要: 8小时潮汐是中高层大气中重要的波动现象之一。研究表明,8小时潮汐的幅度在有些月份会接近或超过占主导地位的波动周日潮和半日潮。目前中高层大气8小时潮汐的研究较少,对其波动全球结构和季节特征仍缺乏认识。本项目拟基于SABER/TIMED卫星探测的近10年的全球中高层大气温度数据和COSMIC探测的近6年的全球电离层F2层峰值电子密度和峰高数据,联合地基台站中高层大气数据、测高仪数据和高时间精度的太阳、地磁数据,探索中高层大气8小时潮汐时空变化规律及其对电离层活动的影响,并尝试研究中高层大气对太阳长周期活动的响应。本项目研究成果将推动对中高层大气中8小时潮汐的全面认识和中性大气-电离层耦合的研究。

英文摘要: Terdiurnal tide is one of the significant periodic oscillations in the middle and lower thermosphere (MLT).Previous studies showed that terdiurnal tide can have lager amplitude than diurnal and semidiurnal tides, the classic dominant waves. However, the global structure and seasonal variations of terdiurnal tide are not understood well yet. In this project, we plan to explore the spatial and temporal variations of terdiurnal tide and its possible impact on ionosphere by using the global atmospheric data (temperature) from SABER/TIMED satellite, the global ionospheric data (F2 layer peak electron density and its height) from COSMIC satellite, the ground-based data and the solar, geomagnetic data with high time resolution. Meanwhile, the long term variation of terdiurnal tide in the MLT region and its solar activity dependence will be studied as well. Our study will has great value in improving our understanding the global structure and seasonal variation of the atmospheric terdiurnal tide in MLT region and thermosphere-ionosphere coupling.
