中文摘要: 微波背景辐射数据是目前宇宙学定量研究最重要的实验依据之一。我们此前发现在各类微波背景辐射观测中普遍存在一种此前未被注意到的系统误差:由旁瓣和多普勒偶极信号的耦合引发的虚假多级矩成分,并认为其会使观测到的微波背景辐射四极矩成分明显偏高。这一研究目前有了重要进展:在最新的工作中我们通过更加精确地扣除此种系统误差,有很大希望首次得到明确的实验证据,支持真实微波背景辐射四极矩精确为零的结论。这不仅会对宇宙学产生重要影响,还会引发实验数据处理,特别是四极矩最优化估算方面的一些问题,包括揭露出现有方法的隐含缺陷,以及对现有方法的重新评估和对更好方法的探寻。考虑到新实验数据的科学价值,以上研究若条件允许,均应拓展到最新的Planck卫星数据方面。

英文摘要: The Cosmic Microwave Background is the basis of precision cosmology. Previously, we have discovered an unnoticed systematical effect due to the coupling of sidelobe response uncertainty and Doppler dipole signal, which can produce artificial multipole components on the detected CMB temperature maps, and believe that, after cleaning this effect, the resulting CMB quadrupole should be lower than the WMAP official value. In our current work, with improved precision, we will hopefully, for the first time, obtain experimental evidence that supports an exact zero CMB quadrupole. This result affects not only cosmology, but also the data analysis, especially the hidden deficiency of the current method for estimating the CMB quadrupole. We want to re-evaluate the current method, point out their deficiency, and try to find out a better method for estimating the CMB quadrupole. We will also extend our work to the most recent Planck data (if possible).
