中文摘要: 多元复合物纳米管(如BN、WS2、TiO2纳米管等)较碳纳米管在结构和性能上具有更丰富的内容及复杂多重性。其原子结构及其准确测定是建立纳米管结构性能关系研究中尚未解决的一个材料科学基本问题,是目前进一步研究结构性能关系的限制瓶颈。基于本申请人研究组建立并已获广泛应用的测定单元素碳纳米管的电子衍射方法,本研究计划发展建立普适的电子及X射线衍射理论与方法,使其应用于分析多元复合物纳米管的原子结构及测定多元复合物纳米管的螺旋指数及结构。在建立描述多元复合物纳米管的电子衍射定量解析关系过程中,将分析确立描述多元复合物纳米管的结构参数(如螺旋指数)与电子衍射图的解析及几何关系,从而最终确立逆问题的解:从实验电子衍射图测定多元复合物纳米管的螺旋指数及原子结构。本研究将建立一个普遍适用的衍射分析方法包括公开的网上模拟程序,使测定一般纳米管(单元或多元)的螺旋指数及原子结构成为一个简易可行的常规实验方法。

英文摘要: Compound nanotubes as typified by boron nitride (BN), tungsten disulfide (WS2), and titanium oxide with anatase structure (TiO2) are more rich in in struture, chemistry, and properties as a natural extension beyond the elemental carbon nanotubes. The research and development of compound nanotubes have been hindered by the lack of experimental techniques to determine the exact atomic structure or chirality (defined by chiral indices)of the nanotubes. Basing on the methods and techniques established by the proposer and collaborators for the study of carbon nanotubes, this proposal targets to achieve understanding of the atomic structure of compound nanotubes with three thrusts in research: (i) Develop analytic relationships of the scattering amplitude as well as the intensity distribution with the structural parameters of a general compound nanotube of given structure; (ii) Establish operation procedures for the measurement and analysis to obtain the chirality (chiral indices) from experimental electron diffraction patterns of compound nanotubes; and (iii) Delvelop a simulation package that allows quick simulation of the eelctron diffraction patterns to assist the determination of the chirality (chiral indices) of the compound nanotubes.
