中文摘要: 图像质量评价标准的研究是图像处理领域中的一个重要课题。均方误差指标(MSE)虽然应用广泛,但不能满足图像处理的要求。结构相似性指标(SSIM)因能很好地反映图像所包含的结构特性,近年来成为研究的热点。另一方面,滤波器组广泛应用在图像处理、数字通信等领域。已有的综合滤波器组设计方法是基于MSE指标的,目前尚无SSIM指标下滤波器组系统的设计方法。本项目将以SSIM为优化目标来系统地研究综合滤波器组的优化设计理论,具体包括子带编码系统中综合滤波器组、重叠变换(LT)中后置滤波器和图像复原均衡器的优化设计方法。重点解决:滤波器组中SSIM指标多相域的表示方法;重叠变换后置滤波器的SSIM表示及优化方法;均衡器设计中SSIM指标非凸问题的直接求解方法。项目组已积累了丰富的经验,研究的问题创新性强,融合了图像评价标准、滤波器组理论、图像处理、优化设计等领域,既有重要的理论意义,也有广泛的应用前景。

英文摘要: Image quality assessment is one of the most important issues in image processing.While the mean squared error (MSE) is widely accepted in practical application, it has been shown inferior to the structural similarity index (SSIM), which has attracted extensive attention in recent years due to its advantage in measuring the image structural information. On the other hand, filterbanks are widely applied to the fields of image processing, coding theory and digital communication. The existing design methods of synthesis filterbanks are usually based on MSE. As far as we know, there is no available method to design the SSIM-based optimal filterbanks. We will study the optimal design of synthesis filterbanks based on SSIM. It includes optimal design methods of synthesis filterbanks in subband system, post-filters in lapped transform and equalizers in image restoration. The key problems are as follows: the SSIM representation in polyphase domain of filterbanks, the optimal design of post-filters in lapped transform and the direct computation of non-convexity problems in SSIM-based.equalizer design. The project team has good track record of research. The proposed research is highly innovative and ranges cross-discipline such as image quality assessment, filterbanks theory, image processing and optimization. The project has of great significance in both theoretical research and practical application.
