Atmospheiric gravity wave, one kind of atmospheric waves, plays an important role in driving middle and upper atmosphere circulation. At present, various atmospheic model can simulate some waves characteristic and its forcing on circulation to a certain extent, but can not predict space weather in accuracy. Therefore,it is particularly necessary to observe gravity wave momentum flux with high precision. This project is based on the narrowband high-spectral resolution sodium temperature/wind lidar firstly developed at the University of Technology of China(USTC) in hefei, China (31.5 N,117 E). On one hand, with the medium and long term datasets with high vertical and temporal resolution observed by our own sodium temperature/wind lidar, we study the varying characteristics of the mesopause and low thermosphere region. On the other hand, we use dual-beam method with each laser beam pointing either east or west to measure east or west wind, and then caculate gravity wave momentum flux following by getting the wind perturbation after detrending large-scale waves. Finally, we obtain the characteristics of gravity wave momentum flux of the region in mid-latitude zone.Combined with other instruments observational data and model data, we quantitatively study the interaction between gravity waves and tides as well as the
