中文摘要: 液晶显示器的视角问题始终是研究热点,随着人们对液晶显示性能的要求越来越高,与视角相关的亮度、对比度、灰阶显示和颜色变化等问题越来越受重视,能够达到与主动发光型显示器相媲美是其基本目标;视角可控的液晶显示器也是视角研究的主要内容。影响液晶显示器视角特性的主要因素有液晶显示模式、补偿膜和驱动方式,其中液晶显示模式和补偿膜的相互补偿作用是解决视角问题的主要手段,驱动方式是实现视角可控性的主要方法。我们将系统研究各种液晶显示模式中的补偿特性,采用偏振光学和显示光学理论进行液晶显示器中与视角相关的显示特性的理论研究,提出新的液晶显示模式,通过专业模拟软件模拟计算新型液晶显示器的显示特性,并用实验来验证。通过研究视角控制的光学原理,揭示各种方法对视角控制的物理机制,获得均匀视角特性的连续可控和方向控制。通过项目研究,提出具有自主知识产权的新型液晶显示器,建立液晶显示器视角问题研究的理论体系。

英文摘要: The viewing angle of liquid crystal display (LCD) is always the research focus. With the increasing demand for display characteristics, the problems related to the viewing angle become more important, including the luminance, contrast ratio, gray level display and color shift,the basic goals of those improved properties are comparable with active luminous type displays. The viewing angle controllable (VAC) LCD is another main part of research about the viewing angle. The main factors that affect the viewing angle of LCD are display mode, compensation film and drive types. The mutual compensated effect of LCD mode and compensation film is the main method to solve the viewing angle's questions, and drive type is the main method to obtain the controllability of viewing angle. In the project, we will systematically research the properties of compensation film in various LCD modes, theoretically study on the display characteristics related to the viewing angle in LCD using polarization and display optics theory, propose novel LCD modes with wide viewing angle, and check the display characteristics through the numerical simulation using the professional software and experiment.
