中文摘要: 本项目拟主要通过MARSIS AIS和MGS RS数据分析及数值模拟,研究火星电离层在晨昏线附近的形态、结构特征及其时空变化、控制因素和机理。重点分析晨昏线附近中低纬度区域近火星空间星际磁场、感应磁场、太阳风、火星南半球壳磁场、火星自转等因素,对200km高度以下主体电离层的影响。以空间等离子体物理学理论为指导,建立晨昏线附近电离层变化特征的物理模型。反演和正演相结合,从大量观测点的电子密度剖面特征提取入手,通过不同时空域、不同太阳天顶角、不同自然环境下多种特征的对比,探讨变化趋势和规律性。在晨昏线附近的时空区域,电离层处于以光电离成因为主的白天状态向以输运成因为主的夜间状态的过渡状态,了解其多方面特征及变化规律,可以为近火星空间等离子体环境与主体电离层关系的深入了解提供特殊重要的信息,对促进提高火星电离层形成机制、运动规律的整体认识有重要意义。

英文摘要: The proposed project is an investigation focused on the morphological and structural variations and their controlling factors, physical mechanisms of the main layer Martian ionosphere near terminator. The observational data of MARSIS AIS (Active Ionosphere Sounding) and MGS RS (Radio science occultation) electron density profiles will be analyzed in order to extract variation characteristics and possible regularities of the near-terminator portion of the ionosphere, with particular emphasis put on the differences between the two (dusk / dawn) sides of the terminator. Possible effects of the asymmetry of the draping magnetic field, induced magnetic field, solar wind, the Martian crustal magnetic anomalies, and rotation of the planet will be investigated. Numerical simulations based on the theory of space plasma physics will be carried out in order to model the variations. This study will shed new light on the relation of the Martian ionosphere to the near-Mars space plasma environment, and promote a better understanding of the Martian ionosphere formation and evolution process.
