中文摘要: 太赫兹(THz)技术在医学成像、传感检测和高速率无线通信等领域具有重要的应用前景。但THz波段动态控制的小型化、高效的光学器件十分匮乏,严重影响了THz技术的广泛应用,因此研制这类器件已成为当前THz领域亟待解决的关键问题。本项目将超表面和光场可控半导体相结合,制作光场可控的超表面,理论和实验相结合研究外加光场作用下此类半导体和超表面的电磁响应特性,掌握微结构的大小、形状和分布影响超表面电磁特性的基本规律,揭示光场控制下超表面特性调控的物理机制,探索超表面在全光调制器、超快功能转换器等领域的应用。本项目的顺利实施将使利用超薄平板光学器件对THz波的波前进行动态调控成为可能,不仅可以应用在通信和超快信息技术方面,还可以用在军事的动态高分辨率成像等方面。

英文摘要: Terahertz (THz) technology has attracted much attention because it’s important applications in medical imaging, sensing, and high-speed wireless communications. However, the smart devices which can dynamically control the wave-front of the THz wave are scarce at present. Hence, the crucial problem to be solved presently is to develop such devices in the THz region. In this project, optical control devices are fabricated by combining the metasurfaces and optical controlled semiconductors. The electromagnetic response of these semiconductors and metasurfaces under the excitation of the external optical field are experimentally and numerically investigated. The effect of the size, shape, and distribution of the micro-structures on the electromagnetic response of the metasurfaces is numerically demonstrated. It is expected to disclose the physical mechanism of the dynamic modulation of the metasurfaces under the excitation of the external optical field, and to explore the applications of the metasurfaces in all-optical modulators and ultrafast function converters etc. aspects. The achievement of this project will not only realize the possibility of the dynamically control of wave-front of THz wave based on ultra-thin flat devices, but also achieve the application of the devices on communication, ultrafast information technologies, and military dynamic high resolution imaging.
