英文摘要: The rectangular Cerenkov maser is a breakthrough when compared with the traditional cylindrical structure. It can provide a higher output power in the millimeter and sub-millimeter wave regime, and other advantages include simple structure, wide tunable bandwidth, etc., all of which make it a potential candidate in the fields of communication, plasma heating, millimeter wave radar, high energy accelerator, etc. This research involves the basic theories and key technologies of the slow-wave structure and the beam-wave interaction between the sheet beam and high frequency circuit in the rectangular Cerenkov maser. The aim of the work is to pave the way for the engineering realization of this new device. The progresses of the research can be summarized as follows: the analysis on the field distribution and dispersion characteristics in the rectangular waveguide with the periodic metallic grating or the dielectric layer; the analysis and design method of the mode taper constructed with the metallic grating or the dielectric layer; the linear theory of two dimensional metallic grating sheet beam interaction system; the analysis on Cerenkov and cyclotron Cerenkov instabilities in the dielectric loaded parallel plate waveguide sheet beam system using the kinetic theory; the approximate three-dimensional linear theory on the interaction between the sheet beam and the electromagnetic mode in the rectangular waveguide with the metallic grating or the dielectric layer using the field-matching method; the rigorous and simplified nonlinear theories on the interaction between the sheet beam and the hybrid modes of the dielectric loaded rectangular waveguide; the nonlinear closed periodic magnetic focusing theory for sustaining the sheet beam stable transport with a long distance; and the linear theory on the rectangular waveguide cyclotron maser with a sheet electron beam.
