中文摘要: 在车用自组织网络中,信息发布依赖于移动车辆之间短暂而随机的相遇,常常导致很长的发布时延和糟糕的用户体验。采用Wifi接入点可以缓解这一问题,但接入点建设,尤其是城市范围的大规模建设,需要大量的投资。在本项目中,我们提出了停放车辆协助信息发布的思想,无需任何投资,直接利用路边停车在城市车载网络中发布信息。装备了无线设备和可充电电池之后,停放车辆可以跟任何驶过的车辆通信。对于一条街道、一个区域、一个城市来说,位于其中的停放车辆可以聚合成街道级的、区域级甚至城市级的数据中心,实现信息发布的协调和管理,实现高效率的信息分发。同时,基于停放车辆的分布式数据中心和数据库可以进一步提供良好的数据处理和存储能力,构建综合性的、从微观到宏观的信息分发系统,为大规模和实用化的车载自组织网络应用提供坚实的基础。

英文摘要: In Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs), information distribution directly relies on the fleeting and dynamic contacts between moving vehicles, which often leads to prolonged distributing delay and terrible user experience. Deploying Wifi-based Access Points could relieve this problem, but it often requires a large amount of investment, especially at the city scale. In this scheme, we propose the idea of ParkCast, which doesn't need investment, but leverages roadside parking to distribute information in urban VANETs. With wireless device and rechargable battery, parked vehicles can communicate with any vehicles driving through them. To vehicles parked in one road, one block, and one city, they can group into street-level, block-level, and even city-level data centers, which are locally coordinated for high-performance information distribution. On the other hand, distributed data centers and database systems based on parked vehicles could provide great data processing and storing capabilities, construct general information distribution systems of different levels, and give a strong base for large-scale and practical vehicluar applications.
