中文摘要: 本项目利用自组织量子点材料尺寸非均匀导致的光增益谱展宽以及量子点超快的载流子动力学特征,发挥外腔锁模激光器波长和重复频率均可方便调谐的优势,研制1.0-1.3微米波段的波长和重复频率均可调谐的外腔锁模量子点激光器。项目对包括宽增益谱量子点材料的分子束外延生长、材料结构和光学性质、宽增益谱器件研制及性质、波长和重复频率可调谐外腔锁模激光系统的构建、以及激光器性能表征在内的所有环节进行系统的研究。

英文摘要: External-cavity mode-locked quantum dot lasers with tunable wavelength and repetition rate in the 1.0-1.3 micron band will be studied in this project. Here, intrinsical non-uniformity of size distribution of the self-assembled quantum dots is used to enhancing the bandwidth of the optical gain spectrum. Further more, ultrafast carrier dynamics in quantum dot materials is very suitable for the generation of ultra-short mode-locked pulses. External-cavity mode-locked quantum dot lasers are advantageous both for the wavelength tuning and the repetition rate tuning. In the project, growth of self-assembled quantum dots, optical and structural properties of quantum dot materials, fabrication and characterization of quantum dot gain devices, and construction of external-cavity mode-locked lasers with tunable wavelength and repetition rate, will be studied comprehensively and systemically.
