中文摘要: 太赫兹频段处在毫米波与长波红外之间,蕴含巨量的信息且兼具“透视”能力,太赫兹探测技术将在宇宙探索、生物医疗以及公共安全等领域发挥重要作用。但传统的毫米波和红外探测器受材料、工艺或结构的限制难以在此频段工作,因此研究新型太赫兹探测器的机理与技术是一个重要课题。本项目将研究基于标准CMOS工艺的太赫兹热探测器,其融合了毫米波天线谐振原理与红外热探测原理,能够覆盖整个太赫兹频段且实现选频探测(‘多色探测’),CMOS工艺保证了探测器的高集成度、小型化与低成本,因此对其的研究具有重要的科学意义和应用价值。本项目将以研究团队已实现的探测器原型为基础,深入研究其工作机理,重点探索耦合天线在太赫兹频段下的电磁学特性和辐射吸收效率,建立起既能解释探测器物理机制,又能指导探测器设计的理论模型。若成功实施,项目成果将为基于标准CMOS工艺的太赫兹热探测器研究建立理论基础、分析框架和设计指导。

英文摘要: Terahertz is between the millimeter-wave and long-wave infrared. It contains a huge amount of information, and has the capability of looking-through. Terahertz detection will play an important role in universe exploration, biomedical research, and public security. But traditional millimeter-wave detectors and infrared detectors are hard to work in this band due to the restrictions of their material, processes or structures. Therefore, the research on the mechanism and technology of the new-type terahertz detectors is critical. This project will study an innovative terahertz thermal detector using standard CMOS process, which combines principles of millimeter-wave antenna and infrared thermal detection. The detector is able to cover the entire terahertz band and has the capability of frequency-selective detection ('multicolor detection'), while CMOS process ensures its integration, miniaturization and low cost. So this research has significant value in scientific and application aspects. The research will explore the detector’s working mechanism, seek the key factors affecting its performance, and establish a theoretical model to guide the design. If successfully implemented, the project will establish a theoretical basis, an analytical framework and design guidance for the research on the CMOS THz thermal detectors.
