英文摘要: In this project we propose to study the atomic scale surface wetting phenomena, including the interactions and electronic couplings between solid surface and water, silicon, or other materials. We try to clarify a set of special wetting phenomena and provide a unified picture from atomistic scale classical or quantum molecular dynamics simulations. We emphasize the special wetting behaviors come from surface-water interactions at the atomic scale, which is different from ordinary macroscopic surface wetting. These fundamental understanding of surface wetting for the ideal, atomistic water-surface contact will help to illustrate the quantized nature of water transport through nanoscale pores, and possibly provide better design for water membranes for desalination and decontamination applications. We stride to target on the underlying physical mechanisms for the formation of haze nanoparticles from all-atomic simulations, which may help to relieve this severe environmental challenge in China.
