Developing new energy is one of the important measures to solve current energy crisis, while new energy materials is the key to realize the transformation and utilization of new energy as well as developing new energy technology. This project intends to use transition metal carbides (such as Mo2C、WC、Ti2C、Nb2C、V2C and so on) as the object of study. We will abandon the traditional high temperature solid phase synthesis method of carbides and use chemical tailoring technique to controllably synthesize their microstructures (such as hollow spheres, hierarchically porous structures, and graphene-like sheets and so on) at the atomic level. Through the study on influencing factors and reaction conditions, we intend to obtain new route to prepare the microstructures of transition metal carbides. By studying the function behavior between moleculers and interfaces, we will put forward the mechanism of crystal nucleation and crystal growth and thus disclose the formation mechanism of microstructures. By finding the relationship of microstructure and property and obtaining general law of the structure control of transition metal carbides, this project will provide scientific basis and technical support for their wide application in new energy fields.
