中文摘要: 本项目拟通过理性分子设计与合成来实现对单取代液晶聚炔分子形状的调控。一些功能基团,如偶氮苯、二苯炔、咔唑、芴、芘等,将作为液晶基元引入到聚炔的侧链上。我们将深入考察化学结构、液晶结构和体系功能三者之间的相互关联。主要研究内容包括:(1)设计、合成具有片状结构的不含柔性间隔基的尾接型侧链液晶聚炔,通过改变液晶基元及侧基尾链的结构来提高刚性片状液晶聚炔的溶解性和可加工性;(2)设计、合成具有柱状结构的甲壳型液晶聚炔,以及基于"甲壳效应"的主/侧链结合型液晶聚炔,考察其多层次自组装结构与化学结构的关系。(3)考察所合成聚炔的导电、光导电、发光等性质,通过控制液晶相态来实现体系功能的优化。

英文摘要: In this project, we intend to realize the control of molecular shape of monosubstituted liquid crystalline (LC) polyacetylene via rational molecular design and synthesis. Some functional groups such as azobenzene, biphenyl ethyne, carbazole, fluorene, and pyrene, will be introduced to side-chains as mesogens. We will study the interplays among the chemical structures, LC structures, and properties. The research will focus on: (1) Design and synthesis of end-on side-chain LC polyacetylene without flexible spacer, which may possess sheet-like molecular shape. Proper choose of the mesogens and also the tail structures of side-chain may offer improved solubility and processability of the rigid sheet-like LC molecules. (2) Design and synthesis of cylinder-liked side-group jacketed polyacetylene and also the combined main-chain/side-chain LC polyacetylene based on "jacketing effect". The relationship between the chemical structure and the hierarchical structure of supramolecular self-assembly will be illustrated. (3) The functionality of the synthesized LC polyacetylenes (e.g., conductivity, photoconductivity, luminescence, etc.) will be studied. Of particularly interest is if the functions of materials can be optimized via the control of the LC phase formation.
