Porous materials have attracted great interest in material and chemistry field because of their unique structure and properties. To exploit green and efficient routes and novel applications for porous materials, it is constructive to understand formation mechanism of the porous materials. The porous materials are synthesized by solid state transformation from cheap layered silicates, which little waste water is produced and products are obtaied with high yield. The process is considered to be one commercialization way in the future. This project will investigate local structures of intermediates and pore-formation under crystallization by combining high resolution X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, solid state nuclear magnetic resonance, and density functional theory. Based on the above mentioned results, evolution model will be built from two-dimention to three-dimention of silicates, and solid-state transformation mechanism will be elaborated from silicates to porous materials. The findings will promote to establish the research methods and theories on solid-state crystallization of porous materials, and to guide efficient and green synthesis of porous materials. The above-mentioned proposal has important scientific significance and application value for synthesis of porous materials
