Supported gold catalysts are prominent for their excellent catalytic activity for CO oxidation. But the relationship between the catalysts' microstructure and catalytic avtivity, and the catalytic mechanism of CO oxidation in this catalytic system are still indistinct. The hydrogen titanate nanotubes prepared from hydrothermal process are suitable for support of model catalysts due to their pure (101) plane exposure. In virtue of the hydrogen titanate nanotubes' special structure and its one-dimensional microporous confinement, TiO2 nanotubes-supported gold catalysts for CO xoidation will be prepared by using the titanate nanotubes as support and gold as active component in liquid system. The specially appointed planes of gold will be fully exposed by the experiment condition control. Based on the model and theoretical calculation of CO adsorption-desorption and O2 adsorption-dissociation on the TiO2 nanotubes-supported gold catalysts, the mechanism of CO oxidation in this system will be illuminated. According to the obtained results, the relationship between the structure and catalytic performance can be revealed. It is predictable that some original results related to the microstructure control of the nanotube-supported gold nanocatalysts and the mechanism investigation of CO oxidation are going to be obtained
