圣塔克拉拉大学(Santa Clara University), 是美国的一所著名的私立天主教学校, 坐落于美国加利福尼亚州硅谷(Silicon Valley)的心脏地带。建立于 1851 年的圣塔克拉拉大学是在加利福尼亚州最老的一所高校,在美西地区有着极高的学术声誉。福布斯 2018 年全美大学(包括综合性大学和文理学院等不同类型大学) 排名第 76。PayScale 2018 全美大学薪资调查显示,圣塔克拉拉大学毕业生薪资排名全美第 13 名。其中工程学院列于美国工程学院排名前100, 计算机科学与工程系是工程学院最大的系。由于地处高科技事业云集的硅谷，学校的学生有得天独厚的就业优势。从世界500强到小型初创公司，数百个公司把总部建在硅谷, 包括苹果、谷歌，领英，Facebook, 英伟达, 英特尔等等。

Ph.D. positions with full financial support are now available in Dr. Ying Liu’s group in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Santa Clara University (SCU). Dr. Liu is looking for self-motivated PhD students to work on image/video processing, machine learning and deep learning. Visiting scholars and students are also welcome.

 

Dr. Ying Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Santa Clara University. Her research focuses on image and video processing, deep learning, high-dimensional data, and compressed sensing. She is an IEEE member and an SPIE member. Her research articles are published in IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology (TCSVT), IEEE Transactions on Multimedia (TMM), Multimedia Tools and Applications, SPIE Journal of Electronic Imaging (JEI), and prestigious conferences such as ICASSP, ICIP, SPIE DCS, and IEEE Asilomar conference. She serves as a reviewer of many top-ranked journals and also serves as the technical program committee member of multiple international conferences.

Requirements:

• M.S. degree (or about to graduate) in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related majors.

• Solid mathematical background and strong programming skills in Python, Matlab and C++.

• Experience in image processing, video coding, deep learning, machine learning, or computer vision is a plus.

• GRE score.

• TOEFL/IELTS scores for international students.

• Strong motivation in cutting-edge research and paper publication.

• PhD program start date: Fall 2019/Winter 2020/Spring 2020/Fall 2020
